Weekly reflection

Some of the things we have learnt and enjoyed this week:

- Maryam
I enjoyed our science afternoon, which was all about forces and friction. It was nice having parents come in so they can know what we have learnt!

- Chloe
I really enjoyed science when we got to learn what a Newton is and we got to use them. A Newton is named after a famous man who discovered gravity.

- Samanta, Shaun, Lewis, Maryam
Newtons are used to measure the amount of force needed to pull or push an object.

- Scott
On Wednesday, we went to the allotment and we asked some questions about organic growing. I found out that some of the people there do grow organic food. We could put some nets to stop spiders and flies from getting in.

- Savannah, Maryam and Chloe
I learnt that when you put oil on jelly and you use chopsticks, it is very hard to pick up. The jelly with the oil had low friction. Friction can be useful because without it, we would all slip over!

Science week

This week 4EL has been learning all about forces during science week. We finished off the week with a discovery afternoon. Thank you to all the visitors who made the afternoon so special and shared our learning with us!

The allotment this week

This week we visited the allotment again. It is really starting to shape up, with the veg we planted last week starting to grow well and even a few strawberries!

We did all of our watering and weeding, planted some new wheat seeds and investigated how other allotment owners keep bugs, birds and weeds off their allotments!

We are still desperate for a shed to store our equipment in at the allotment, can anyone help?

Term 6: Our class target

This term 4EL will be trying hard to show respect for others.

This means that we will listen carefully to others when they speak. We will try hard not to get angry with other people and not to use unkind words or violence against others. We will try hard to be friendly and kind to others and give help when people need it.
