A message from Malaga

This week, Mr Linton is visiting a school in Malaga, Spain. We have been looking at the blog and have a message for you:

Hello! How are you?
We are happy because we have an opportunity to meet your teacher! He is a good teacher!

Our school is close to the beach and it´s very beautiful. It´s hot and sunny so in the afternoon we go to the beach. It hardly ever rains here. We would like to visit England and your city. If you want, you can come to Spain too! We will make you feel welcome! We hope you learn Spanish!

Best wishes,

JUAN JOSE, CHRISTIAN, ALEJANDRO, ÁLVARO, ALEJANDRO, SARAY, CARMEN, MARI CARMEN, ANA, AIDA, ARACELI, MIRIAM, LEILA

Our reflection on the term

In our super sentence I liked writing the letter to Mrs Barrett to persuade her to buy organic food! I learned to use new openings in my sentences!
Kea

I learnt to put connectives like because, and, then, or, before, but etc to connect my ideas.
Amber

I learnt how to do persuasive writing and I turned out to be pretty good. When you grow up you might be someone who persuades others.
Chloe G

I really liked the spelling challenges like the bowling. I loved practising the time tables today. We will win next time!
Owen

I achieved my target of using connectives like 'in addition' and 'therefore' in my persuasive writing.
Katie

We have started to write in paragraphs instead of short sentences.
Savannah

I've enjoyed doing everything this term! I've loved my golden time club!
Shaun

I think I've achieved my target of showing both sides of an argument in my persuasive writing.
Georgia

I've learnt some new spellings that I didn't know before, like persuade, organic, poisonous, against, allotment, experiment.

Reasons FOR buying organic foods

Use this post for sharing your reasons for buying organic food.

Reasons AGAINST buying organic food

Use this post for blogging reasons against buying organic food.

Our best me clubs this week

In art club we painted some feathers and we did it blindfolded. We had a pen and we weren't allowed to look at the drawing and only look at the feather.

In sewing today, we did some sewing and I helped my friend to get finished. We helped each other and showed reciprocity.

We went around the field on our bikes. I practised changing gears. Every time we went round, I was the first to go around.

In my club, which is cooking and growing, we tasted some plum bread. There were 3 types - fruit bread, soreen and malt loaf. We're going to try to make malt loaf.

Rand Farm - Day 3

Today was the last day of our Rand Farm trip.

We went to wood side and we saw meerkats and stroked a baby fox, it looked so cute. We saw lots of fish and Sid the sloth and we went in a bat cave!

We saw the white wolves. They looked like they were going to eat us! They are actually scared of people though! We saw some giant tortoises as well! We also saw a parrot called Polly and a falcon called pedro. He squeaked very noisily but he was very good for a change in the show!

We saw some pig racing! The pink one win two times and the orange one won once!

My favourite part was sensing my favourite animal in person, the meerkats. I liked the way they were pretending to fight and they all worked together using teamwork.

I saw Mrs Dunbar cleaning out the rabbits! I had to do it too and did some teamwork with Caitlin! I also did rabbits!

Cleaning out the pigs was so funny because I thought it would be really bad but it wasn't, it was really good. I was good because we had to work as a team to do it. We volunteered to do it!

Today I milked one of the cows! It felt weird and I found out that cows have four stomachs!

I found out that the microscopic animals inside the hay help the straw to decompose.

I enjoyed the food! Breakfast was really nice because they do the best scrambled eggs I've ever had! All week we got to choose from a massive menu and it was so hard to decide because all the food was gorgeous. I loved the melon!

I saw some sloths and some lemurs! I even saw some up on top of the bars and it was really funny and cute!

I got scared seeing the ratatouille kitchen with the rats in the cooker! And a bat flew close to me and Chloe!

Day 2 at Rand

Today was our second day at Rand Farm - here are our best bits!

We got in to two group and we got to milk the cows, feed the calfs and lambs using bottles, we had a tracker ride, we made cookies with chocolate chips, played out side and in the play barn, we had a trip to the wind mill and we spent time with friends.

The 4EL boys:

First we cleaned out the pigs but it wasn't as bad as you think. Then we fed the bull and fed the reindeer. Then we had lunch next to the massive windmill. At the windmill, the stairs were scary going down because you needed to go backwards. When we came back we made soft, delicious COOKIES! Also some people went to the gift shop. Charlie the alpaca spat near us!

I liked eating my wonderful, amazing and brilliant cookie! We went to see the sheep on the field on a tractor ride! A brown calf tried sucking my thumb and it was gross! I had about 6 ice creams. I had vanilla, raspberry and black currant. The man who did the ice cream, he took over from his grandad and his dad and his factory is very clean.

We have been seeing sheep in the field on a tractor and we went to the windmill which was brilliant! Also we had a picnic there which was brilliant!

I really enjoyed cleaning out the pigs, it was more fun than I thought it would be. I really enjoyed going around the windmill and going up to see the different sections of the windmill. I enjoyed eating the delicious cookies. They looked like we'd bought them from a shop! I really enjoyed today and I don't want to leave!! I really enjoyed it when one of the calves was sucking my thumb!

Today was the best day of my life because we got to stroke the cute cows and rabbits and we got to have a hot chocolate at the end of the day with our delicious cookies. My cookie looked just a volcano! Ian from the windmill gave us tasty cakes made with his wonderful flour.

Today was the freakiest day because on the ledge on the windmill you felt like you were going to fall down. When the sails came down, it felt like they were going to hit you!

Ian at the windmill told us a story in the windmill. He said that about 100 years ago there was a big storm and the windmill couldn't stop turning. The machine got so warm, it burnt out and went up in flames. The man who owned the house near the windmill, his baby woke him up and saved the windmill. So the baby was the hero of the story!

This is my best day ever!

Our first day at Rand!!

Today was the best day because we are at Rand Farm and we're staying for 3 days but the worst thing is that we get to clean out the pigs . We also held a chick and fed the animals. We also got to play on the Adventure playground, go karts and also in the play barn .Tomorrow we will be cleaning out the pigs yuk ! We got mr Linton on the trampoline it was really funny . We can't wait to do more fun jobs on the farm .All of us are really enjoying rand farm because it is really interesting to see the baby lambs and feed them. It felt quite funny because they have so much power. I was pretty amazed because we got to go in the animals bed to put some hay in there. We saw this really big and massive rabbit that was called Harriet. We went on the go karts it was very fun.

We can't wait for more fun tomorrow!
