Science week - Tuesday

Today 4EL have been investigating the science of colour!

We have been asking the BIG questions....

HOW DO WE SEE COLOUR?

We have been using colour science to make natural dyes, just like the Vikings did!

Comment your ideas below....

When the light source hits a colour, the colour reflects on your eye.
Aiden

When the light isn't on, you can't see colours. When the light is on you can see colours.
Connor

You need to have a light source to see the colours. If an object is red, it absorbs all colours apart from red. The red bounces off and into our eyes. Our eyes will tell our brain what colour the object is.

  1. Hi 4EL,
What interesting experiments you have conducted! How did you make natural dyes?
I would love to do some experiements to find out more about why we see the colours we do. Once, I heard that when you see something of a certain colour, it's not actually that colour but more that thing rejecting every other colour except the one you see. Do you think this is possible?

  2. Dear 4el,

We like the experience it looked cool. It was cool because you put different colors in each bowl and it looked amazing . We really like the part when you guys told us that,'' if a object is red, it absorbs all colors apart from red. We learned a lot thanks so much :)

Did you guys do any other experiments?
